Julie has a long and diversified experience in communication. Working as a print media sports journalist [“Athlitiki Icho”, 1991-1993] was her very first job even before completing her studies as an architect. Julie was a Press Office executive for a number of sports events that were hosted in Athens before the 2004 Olympic Games [e.g. 1991 Mediterranean Games, 1995 European Basketball Championships “Eurobasket”, 1995 World Basketball Championships for Junior Men, 1998 World Basketball Championship].
She later joined the Press Office of the Athens 2004 Bid Committee; the Committee won the bid for the organisation of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, through a one-year intensive campaign. In this role, Julie coordinated Press Office tasks and activities, prepared press releases and communicated with local and foreign media. She was the editor in chief of various Committee publications.
The skills and the experience acquired all these years, proved extremely useful in the later years, in Julie’s roles in a start-up, in public sector companies and in the OECD.
Between 2016 and 2020 Julie drafted, edited and published the quarterly newsletters targeting the OECD members and other experts in the area of Effective Learning Environments. The newsletters included updates of the working group and the OECD, the new publications of OECD, the World Bank, the European Investment Bank, the Council of Europe Development Bank, the University of Melbourne and other stakeholders. The newsletters also featured a number of school projects from around the globe, as well as articles and research on relevant topics. The newsletters were highly valued amongst the members of the Group of National Experts on Effective Learning Environments.
